I think I figured out a partial solution.
I found a similar bug report here on Launchpad, Bug #1739991. I turned
off Sophos real-time scanning, and I was able to successfully run 'sudo
apt --fix-broken install'. It seems like there are multiple causes for
this issue, but I hope this helps

Suspend
For me, the same issue remains but I suspect it is related to Nvidia
driver, since after I removed nvidia driver, both suspend and hibernate
work normal with this new kernel. I used the proprietary tested
Nvidia-390.48 driver on Nvidia 1080.
With this new kernel, I tested hibernate with the open
@hendrikc could you confirm if the hibernation works on your system? I
got 4.15.0-33-generic and nvidia-390.48, nvidia 1080ti, i7, I can
suspend the system but not hibernate.

I tried kernel 4.17.0-7.8 from cosmic on Ubuntu bionic and got some
issues. After installing the 4.17 kernel, I tested my PC and found it

Same issue after upgrading from Ubuntu Gnone 17.04 to Ubuntu 17.10.
First I purged gnome-screensaver, but it didn't work.
Then I went to Setting -> Privacy -> Screen Lock -> Automatic Screen
Lock and turned it off. Now the original Gnome lock screen went away and
only one lock screen is left.
This problem was solved after updating to Ubuntu 17.10, but I don't know
why(maybe the bug was fixed in a new release in some packages).

I didn't pay attention to hs_err log file. Would it be generated under
PWD ?

I find that it's need hddtemp run in daemon mode first.
On my PC, just ran "sudo hddtemp -d /dev/sd?". Then glances will show

It seems the problem for me is the action of 'turn off' bluetooth.
I dual boot with Windows 10. If I chose to 'reboot' (not shutdown) from
windows and boot into ubuntu, bluetooth will start properly and working
fine. The moment I turned off bluetooth it stop working, even reboot
again.
