The attached screenshot shows the reported total file size of 993.7GB
(it has sense climbed past 1500GB). The output of df (below) reports the
full size of the "1 TB" drive as 917 GB.

I don't have enough trials to rule out coincidence, but it seems to
happen to me only when I have a web cam connected. I can't figure out
what the connection is, but I was experiencing the problem with one
camera, disconnected the camera and returned it because of unrelated
issues, and didn't exper
FWIW, I'm experiencing this issue on an from-CD Jaunty install with
relatively few extra packages installed and minimal configuration
changes. I'm on a sony sz340 laptop using the trackpad.
Running "skill -u ..." to terminate my session from another console and
logging back in seems to fix the iss
