I experienced the same problem, with ubuntu 14.04 last year in November.
My scanner was no longer detected by xsane (and other scan apps.)
The model is 'Canon MX870' multi-function and is connected via LAN with a fix
ip-adress to the network. After some weeks the problem disappeared by system

I'm experiencing the same too. I also noticed that there is no .fonts
directory in my home. Maybe it's since I've never successfully installed
a font.

Excuse me for not reading all the discussion up there..
From the first time i used the dash, i found it extremely handy and
useful; but for what are my necessities zeigeist's way to search files
is not suited for me, so that i'm only using tracker.
So I ask: can you integrate tracker, obviously
Since they perfectly work, the lens proposed by Teester could be simply
put in the official repositories and each lens raccomended in the proper
pleayer download page in software-center. So the bug could be considered
fixed.
NOTE: I've already seen Rhythmbox's lens in software-center, but I

installation of msttcorefonts aborts in an upgraded system and also in a
new installed dapper system. Don't know if somebody has an idea to

I don't know where the attachments were lost.
Anyhow I did some more investigations on the problem myself.
Result: The package 'msttcorefonts' caused the upgrade abort. This
package seems to work only in Breezy but not in Dapper.

I started the upgrade to Dapper from the gnome update menu.
Then about 570 Mb files where downlaoded.
Along the installation procedure the mentioned error message was displayed.
The return value for the installation procedure was displayed = 1.
There was no other informations.
