As far as I can tell, ethernet cards usually behave just fine if allowed
to autonegotiate speed and duplex. Sometimes, though, this doesn't
work. A user should be able to force, for example, 10BaseT/half duplex
for their ethernet connection(s) by right clicking on the networ

information? Because you haven't seen a crash, it's probably best to
follow the instructions to stop NetworkManager after you get your
settings how you want

This was solved by adding myself to the audio group in /etc/group. I
realize this is an easy fix, but why wouldn't this be taken care of by
packaging? I still think this is a bug so I'm not marking this invalid.

Reported via ubuntu-bug, so I assume all relevant system information is
already attached.
Sounds does not work at all inside X. No GUI apps can play sound, and
no terminal applications launched inside xterm can play sound either.
aplay -l shows nothing, and alsamixer refuses
Over three months since request for more information with no response,
so I'm closing this bug. If this remains a problem for a version of
ubuntu that's still within the support life, please feel free to reopen
this bug. Thanks!

I can confirm this on jaunty. After signing up for ubuntuone, the
repository that's enabled is https, and apt-file gives this error:
$ sudo apt-file update
W: Don't know how to handle https: Bad file descriptor
This wasn't present before adding the https repository.

works now under a plain old Jaunty netbook remix install
(2.6.28-11-generic kernel).
I have only tried using it with a wiimote, so I can't confirm phone
issues. The wiimote works fine.
