I found that sometimes when I close lid without locking the screen, the
latest picture stays on a screen and mouse cursor is shown, but
Brad, I've upgraded Ubuntu and unfortunately still can reproduce this

Every time I close my laptop's lid and wait for few minutes -- screen stays

I can switch to text console (Alt-Ctrl-F1) and back to black X screen
(Alt-Ctrl-F7). I can login in console.
I don't see mouse cursor on X screen.

and noone reported problem with these keys. Actually, I have "doblue-
brightness" issue on my Dell Inspiron 1520 (with 12.04 beta 2!! will it

I have BCM4311 (rev 01) wifi controller.
I've made a lot of experiments and can say, that system hangs with wl driver.
When I'm using b43 driver, system is more stable. But there are disconnects
from wifi network with message "No probe response from AP 00:13:46:70:b0:e7
after 500ms, disconnecting

Does your ktorrent download to encrypted partition? ~/Private?
I've found that downloading to ~/Private or to encrypted home dir results in
lockups and corrupted files. When I'm trying to download same file to
unencrypted directory ktorrent works well.

I've noticed another problems with ktorrent & encryptfs and I think it's
the same bug.
Files which ktorrent downloads to encryptfs are corrupted! The same
files downloaded out of encryptfs are ok.
I'm enabling data checking after download and ktorrent often get ~30-50%
corrupted parts.

It looks like video driver error.
Both computers where ktorrent hangs have nvidia video with nvidia-185 drivers.
Another computer with ati video works fine with ktorrent.
And it seems that system is not totally dead. HDD led blinks rarely.

Ktorrent hangs whole system (mouse cursor stops, keyboard doesn't respond
(pressing num lock, caps lock), alt-ctrl-f1 does nothing, hdd led doesn' t

Single brightness-up press gives single event:

I can confirm that. When keep is backing up, konqueror is not
responding. Even keyboard in current kde session blocks (I can start new
session with mouse and keyboard works there, i can press Alt+Fx and
login into console).

After stopping hal and acpid (/etc/init.d/acpid stop; /etc/init.d/hal
stop) I can adjust brightness in console and kde with all levels, but
there is no popups in kde (guidance uses hal?). So it looks like that
there are two services that handling brightness changing
