Tried to install Lubuntu 13.10, Linux Mint 16 XFCE or Cinnamon and had
problems launching the installer due to distorted graphics. Linux Mint
has compatibility mode that works fine for the installer. However after
installing and rebooting I get the distorted graphics again. The text

I experience the same problem occasionally, but with my wired
connection. Running "nmcli nm sleep false" helps to solve the problem.

Updated Ubuntu to 12.10 today. Tried to suspend and hibernate and it
worked just fine. Using kernel 3.5.0-17.

Also having this issue. I can't debug my LuaJIT program with this issue,
as LuaJIT's custom allocator is mandatory on x64 and Valgrind doesn't
track all errors when using it.

read some of the discussion here, and im pretty advanced linux user, but
do not understand what to do now - how do i apply the patch? is
upgrading upower really helps? if i want it, do i need to compile it by
myself?
