I have just installed Ubuntu Hardy from scratch. I've been using Ubuntu
for years with auto-update, so this is my first fresh install for a
while. I found it very difficult to find how to set up Windows
Workgroup, I have spent 2 hours searching Ubuntu help anf Google. The

gmarcon - thankyou for this! I have an IBM T40 with a 40GB HDD and I was
about to give up.
For others: I installed Windows XP Pro, leaving about half the disk free
for Linux.

This is still present in 9.10. I believe the most important issues are
those a) visible to new users out-of-the-box and b) which obviously
differ from Windows. Hence this is a very important issue which is very
likely to be noticed by new users, who will base their opinion of Ubuntu
(and Linux) on
Hi again, I've installed 10.04 LTS and one of the first things I did was
check this out. Nope, it's broken in the same way.

I've dug an old Palm out to run a crucial app. Out of the box, Hardy
connects. But how the hell to install the app? Nothing in the Help.
