[Bug 223638] [NEW] no sound on upgrade to Hardy Heron

Public bug reported: Upgraded to Hardy Heron from Gutsy Gibbon via Update Manager on Dell Inspiron 1420 and lost all sound. Have unmuted all sound in Alsa mixer, but no help there. When I hit the test buttons, it looks like sound should be coming out--I get no error message, but no sound either.
