When I launched k3b today it informed me that DMA was disabled on one of
my DVD drives (Pioneer DVR-111C). This has not been a problem in the
past. It was always enabled by default on this drive (as well as my

I'm having the same problem. In my case it's Gutsy/i386 not a dist-
upgrade but a simple upgrade from a previous verson of HAL.
Me thinks the Importance needs to go from "undecided" to "critical".
Anytime yesterday would be fine. ;)

speed that the drives are designed to handle. They do just fine with
most 16x DVD-/+R media at 16x (although I usually drop it back to 12X as
previously stated).

I have no way of telling if this is a dupe of one of the many other
similar reports, so my apologies if it is.
I had landed on a web page in Firefox with embedded video (or was it
audio? - I opened it in a background tab. Then the plugin crashed.
It happened a for a second time today. In this instance X had completly
frozen so I had to restart it. Upon restart the rest was identical (for
me) as to what happened before. I have no idea is this backtrace is any
different but in any event.

It cashed. I don't remember when.
I was "asked" to submit this bug report when I logged in.
On the other hand... Firefox didn't note the crash when I just started
it like it normally does..

After I installed htdig, opned KDE Help Center and built the search

I think I attached this to the wrong bug report. There were numerous
"firefox-bin crashed with SIGSEGV in __kernel_vsyscall()" reports. But
mine is for Feisty and I just noticed this report (#87369) os closed
