i installed latest update too. synaptic says about the version: 1:2.0.0-0ubuntu2 at the moment i use a manually installed nvidia 9631. so this is how i tested it: -> sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and choose "nv" -> edited linux-restricted-modules-common from "nv" to "" result: same blackscr
