i can say that i have this bug since i've installed Ubuntu Gutsy Tribe 5
(i had feisty before and i didn't have it)
I also can watch movies but no ogg vorbis nor mp3 sounds
i have an ATI RADEON 8500 with opensource driver (the one which is

It shows an icon in the systray which may be stock_mail.png or stock_inbox.png
(depends on the state of your mailbox)

The drawback is that people will use their passwords more frequently
and then it will become less exceptionnel in their mind which is not a
good thing for security.
But it's still better than gdebi if you consider that packages are
installed from official repositories...

It would be great (and more coherent for the user) if these softwares
(which are bundle with ubuntu) could all benefit from apturl and react
in the same way

i have reported this night Bug #144318 which is quite similar (as
Sebastien Bacher pointed out) and i have given a few suggestion about
the way to improve that situation in my report (i.e. to create a submenu
with configuration options to suppress direct access to these menu
entries)
