I am not able to change system settings.Suppose i go to settings and
want to auto-hide the dock then it doesn't work i.e.,whenever i click

I tried setting options snd-hda-
intel model=alc255-acer, and it worked for me after a reboot.

The problem reproduces for me as soon as I do ftp(vsftpd 3.0.3 server on DUT)
to the DUT. After that it just hangs and keeps giving the msg every 10 secs
waiting for lo to become free. Usage count=1.

Hello
I recently purchased Dell Inspiron 7537. i7-4200M with 2gb nvidia 750m
graphics card.
On installing Xubuntu 13.10, there has been no sound since the beginning. Any
suggestions ?
I am seriously starting to hate Ubuntu on Dell laptops...always some bloody
issue.

I have been an Ubuntu user for the past 4 years but since the launch of
ubuntu 12.04 and this bug on my Dell Studio 1558...i have to log into
windows...
If I change the screen brightness continuously a few times, the screen freezes
and computer does not respond...

Same here. On wireless, starts fine and then gradually degrades to
bits/sec, upto 93% packet loss!
Everything works just fine, if using a wired connection. So something is
related to wireless connection.

There seems to be quite a few of us trying to fix this problem on Dell
Laptops. The problem is simple there is a cursor running bottom to top
near the right part of the screen in both ubuntu and kubuntu (7.04). The
problem on the Dell Latitude C600(the one I have) goes away
