dmraid kpartx it's all good, now 3.2.0-24-generic finds the root
partition and loads the OS.

Just a short FYI: OpenSUSE 11.0 doesn't detect my crappy DVDRW unit
during installation. It loads the kernel (2.6.25-something) but can't
mount the CD to access the compressed image.

Same problem here with the DVD-RW drive, exactly the same behaviour as
described above. Ubuntu 7.10, but reproduces also on Opensuse 10.3. I'm
also left without DVD under Vista. Can anyone take a look at it?
