Screen brightness is flashing on Acer Asprire 1640z when gnome-power-
manager is running on battery. When switching to battery mode, the
screen dims a bit (this is normal) and begins to flash and jump. Then if
you switch to the AC mode
Ubuntu 9.04. Changing brightness on HP 6710b accompanies with slowing
down the computer. This did not happen with ubuntu 8.10 on HP 6710b.

Acer TM6292 is a new model, and the driver acerhk.ko is old and supports
old models (up to 2005 year). Maybe the problem is in the driver. Maybe
this driver should be updated, or we could modprobe acerhk
force_series=(something)...
I also have problems with my Acer TM2424. However, I like that Fn+

Maybe this is a bug in linux-ubuntu-modules package or the linux kernel?
Apparently, there is a code that confuses Fn+Left with Fn+Right. First,
bios decreases brightness by "Fn+Left"; second, GNOME roughly increases
it. In the end, brightness increases. Bios changes brightness slower
than GNOME, t

I had a similar problem. Removing the file "prefs.js" in your firefox
profile folder solved this. (Apparently, the configuration was broken by
an extension or by updating from previous versions of firefox.)
