I've been in touch with some GPM developpers to make sure FN Keys and power
management on Nvidia based Vaios is working fine, which it did in lucid, after
patching GnomePowerManager and using the nouveau instead of the closed source
nvidia driver.
FN were working - missing package will cause every Sony laptop being in

HI Pedro thanks for taking the time to take a look into this bug again.
Hopefully all will agree with me that this bug has been solved by empathys
integration into the indicator applet in Lucid.
But even for those using piding the issue can't be there anymore because
indicator applet does use a

asked to do one within 1 month - and didn't see the icon show up in the
indicator.
The older version included in karmic printed the time to next backup if
launching from CLI

see screenshot attached - I've tried this on 3 different systems, it
looks like the indicator applet occasionly loads in a wrong way which
makes it nearly impossible to use it.
Workaround:
killall gnome-panel
which will restart the panel

gnome-panel's indicator
same behaviour here too, on a amd64 with and withouht loaded nvidia
driver
using metacity --replace the slide appear in fullscreen too (compiz is replaced)
going back to compiz same problem.
