This is solved in Edgy, and I remember there was an entry in
Applications->Internet->Amaya for dapper as well.

Additionally, I'm using 9.52 on Debian testing on another machine, and
it doesn't exhibit this problem. My guess is that it could be somehow
Ubuntu-specific...?

Using edgy release candidate, and when I try to edit an existing
XHTML/Transitional/Strict page using amaya, it duplicate some of my
"front matter" such as the contents of ..., my doctype, and
some of my body. Strange I know, but that's what has happened on
multiple occasions.

[Bug-tar] tar 1.15.91 attempting to get to files
I believe this is the same bug as a similar long-standing Debian amaya
bug. They seem to have narrowed it down to the way amaya calls
glXMakeCurrent() through libgl1-mesa-glx.
