I was running Lucid off Live-CD and was seeing if I could activate the
Broadcom B4312 wifi driver before I did any actual install. I had a
ethernet connection when this happened. I had just downloaded the Daily
build dated 1/13/10
This is also the 2nd crash that was reported by the system, bug
I am now at the final release of Karmic which is now 9.10 and the
headphone jack in my case works as normal with nothing done on my part.
I did do a new install when I installed Karmic beta then upgraded
through the channels.

I have installed a clean install of Karmic beta and again the headphone
jacks works as it should by default. Plug the headphones in and the
internal speakers shutoff. Hopefully it will stay this way with the
final release.

I have a Vostro 1520 running Jaunty amd64 and have the same problem as
described above. This is not the normal operation of a headphone jack.
Normally when you plug headphones in the internal speakers are shutoff.
I don't understand why this would have been changed so that it is not
the default.
I have a Vostro 1520 that has the same problem. At first it happened
just once in awhile not it see it might take 4-5 boots to be able to
login. The system though looking like it is frozen I don't think it
really is, if you press the power button the system starts shutting down
and when it remove

Just installed it a few minutes ago, scanned my music collection of
mp3's and ogg's. Was playing a ogg file and about 3/4 the way through it
quit playing, I choose another song and it showed it was playing but had
no sound.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.0.4 which was upgraded from a clean install of
8.1.0
Had excatly the same problem with sending mail to my ISP's smtp server
but was not at home so I was not logged into their networ, in my case
Charter. The only difference is I am using a Latitude 620 which is not
AMD64 or 64 bit.

thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV in PL_HandleEvent()
Using 0.7.0 under Jaunty and the bug still exist. I was stiching to the
images and made some changes in the control points and told it to
realign and the program crashed. The 3 images that I was using were not
really taken as to be stiched into a panorama, I had just installed and
was just taking
123 had 5 pages and 124 had 2 pages. In both cases I only requested 1
copy.
That was all my fault I was brain dead and thinking multiple pages not
multiple pages/copies.

Here's the log file but I don't think that it will be of any help. For
what ever reason when I tried printing the same file that I printed when
reporting that I also had this printing problem.
I am running Jaunty A6 AMD64 with current updates.

My mistake, multiple copies still doesn't work unless you check collate.
The page count of the other 2 print jobs was correct, and I only told it
to print 1 copy so that was also correct, my mistake.
The d* file only had one copy consisting of 2 pages

Can''t explain this but gstreamer-0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.10-1ubuntu1 was
not installed
libdvdread4 is v4.1..3-4ubuntu1
So with that in mind I installed gstreamer0-10-plugins-bad and now the
DVD menus work fine.
Can't say for sure but my guess is that it was the missing gstreamer-
plugins-bad

I couldn't find a dupe either that is why I created a new one. Tried it
on my 8.10 32 bit machine today and all was fine. Also did a update
dist-upgrade today there was some new totem files but the problem is
still there.
If I can do anything else let me know.
