Resolution was set to 640x800 and not able to change it. Monitor and
graphics drivers not recognized. All display settings changed and not
correctable.
Rebooted back to the 5.3 kernel and system is back to normal.
May delete the 5.4 kernel until corrected.

Actually, disregard that last comment. I never rebooted after updating
snap using the ppa. I didn't think it was needed, but after a reboot
this morning and running the updated software fresh I have not had a
recurrence of the bug.

I think it has something to do with the latest kernel deciding the card has
N and then failing when it tries to enable it, leaving the wireless card
disabled.
Issue the command
sudo lshw -c network
and look for the wireless interface info. I bet that it will say *-network
DISABLED.

afternoon. After removing the option line from/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf
and rebooting again, wifi still works. So the fix seems to be a simple

me an error unable to get package openexr6.deb (sorry i've shut the

Would like to add that this happens to me as well. I found that sticking a usb
HD into a slot will get it going again. The only thing in the logs that was odd

I forgot I submitted this bug and upgraded to the ATI provided 9.4
driver. That seems OK so far. There is still some weirdness in the Xorg
logs, so hopefully it will help. X takes a very long time to start on
boot for me, it looks like xorg.log.old was from the boot and x
restarted itself which is
short xorg log.
Please note that the errors I pasted into the comment above were
actually popping up in the log viewing utility as the stuttering was
occurring.

Playing video is fine after login, but after the computer has been on a
day or so, if I try to watch a video the computer starts hitting like 2

Seems that using an openGL program is what triggers this. The following
errors appeared while the system was stuttering. May be fixed by running
a command that interacts with the vid card. I ran ' aticonfig --od-

I'm also started having the printer dialog hang. It sounds like what is
going on in this bug report although I'm not sure it has to do with the

seems to be working OK, except for occasionally soft resetting the
drives. The problem is apparently fixed with a firmware update. See this

OK so feisty shipped with ata_piix as the default module. That of course
led to the bug where the a cd had to be in the drive to avoid lock ups.
I ran the system76 driver which basically blacklisted ata_piix and
allows the old piix module to
