I am running the latest beta of 18.04 with upgrades. Since installation
I try to log in the gdm screen and receive the message, "Sorry, that
didn't work. Please try again." I get the same message when I try to log
in to Update Manager. The app and gdm screen launch if I enter my
password again.

events almost always happens when I wake from "Suspend":
-Turn on monitors
-Press the "Ctrl" key
[Screens light up, System Monitor shows 8 instances of kworker;
Hear HDD activity;

As I understand it, this is an upstream design choice. saned doesn't let
users select which scanners to share, it just shares any scanners that
it can see. I think if network scanners were shared, then 2 saned
instances on the same network get into a loop sharing the same

/dist-packages/.*gobject.*\.so' shows that python is looking for the
gobject dll in /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-
packages/gi/overrides/GObject.x86_64-linux-gnu.so.

This has been affecting my installation routines for a number of versions of
Kubuntu now.
I found a workaround that involves temporarily disabling nouveau until nvidia
drivers can be installed:

I performed the latest updates and much to my dismay it did not resolve
the issue.
On a whim, putting the node that failed to commission into recovery mode
and then taking back out again resolved it.

I didn't have dnscache-run installed. When I try to install from the raw
.deb file I got the same error. But the upgrade tool said it completed
successfully except for that error and after rebooting dnscache-run was
no longer problematic and lsb_release shows I'm on 16.04, so I think
everything is
