One last question though, did Envy (pre-NG version) specify the driver
to retrieve from NVIDIA, or did it just get the latest? I'm trying to
figure out why it would have worked fine for me in Fiesty but I don't
know which driver I was using then.

My fault, Alberto. I somehow switched to the rt kernel after the
upgrade. I've now switched back to the 2.6.24-generic kernel, ran envy
and the drivers are loaded fine! Thanks again for the awesome job you do
