I see the same issue, but without installing the nvidia driver. I have
Trusty Tahr installed on an older machine with AMD/ATI video.

where XFBurn would be determining the disc speed. I could hear the DVD-
RW drive hunting back and forth for several minutes like it could never

Saw same hang when upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10. Problem for me is the
dialog for grub-pc configuration was behind the main update manager's
