I have also the same problem. The scanner e20 worked fine before the
migration to Feisty Fawn. I try to re-install sane, xsane and libsane
but it's the same problem with popup message.

I am another newbie to Ubuntu, so any help would be appreciated. I've
have had Ubuntu 8.10 up and running since 3/6/09. Three days ago, out
of the blue, when attempting to open TuxMath, the screen briefly goes
black, closes all open applications, and then displays the login
I think this is a bug in X Windows rather than tuxmath as what you've
described happens when X crashes (it goes back to the login screen). I
presume the machine doesn't reboot.
I've added xorg to the bug - they will need to get information from you
in order to work out what's going on.

What's an SDL widget set? SDL is the best graphics but takes the most
resources. There are no widgets! SDL is the simple direct media layer
and is commonly used in linux games. GTK is the standard for Gnome. I

It is random and it looks like something (possibly a time out) corrupts
the file so that updating always fails. Other repositories will work
fine, even those which are also archive
It's a kde application. It runs fine on Ubuntu with the kubuntu-desktop
installed. It does need kdesu to run under root. I'm not using Edubuntu
but I can confirm it is fine on Ubuntu with kubuntu-desktop installed.

I wonder if this is to do with dependencies?
swscanner depends on kdelibs4c2a (>=4:3.5.2), libqt3-mt (>=3:3.3.6),
libqt3-mt-sqlite (>=3.3.5) and konsole (among others).
I'm guessing it should also depend upon whatever bit of kde provides
kdesu, if it isn't in the list.
