This happens for me as well. I'm assuming it is a bug with the USB
system. This doesn't happen for me every time, maybe 1 out of 40 times.

This bug happens for me too. It is very irritating, as I use open
dialogues quite often in gedit, It seems to me that it opens in the
correct size, then some sort of dynamic resizing happens once the window
content is loaded, and at that point the size gets messed up.
