eventually I find the 'Startup Programs' tab in Sessions. It's
dreadful. Upon pressing 'Add' I'm presented with a dialog where I have
to manually enter the command used to start an application as well as

Since upgrading to eft, I have to run the following command on reboot to
restore nvidia driver support:
apt-get install --reinstall linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-7-generic &&
modprobe nvidia && /etc/init.d/gdm restart
** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
