I don't seem able to change the priority of this bug. I really don't
think it should be set to 'low' though. The bug can effect anyone who
fills up their disk, and leaves them completely unable to login, even to
search for help, assuming they don't know how to use text mode, which
most don't. They

I replaced my USB mouse with a PS/2 one and the freeze seems to have
gone away I think that was what got rid of it. Haven't had a freeze in
weeks. I've also upgraded from Dapper to Edgy though, that could have
done it.

I have found this same issue with numerous ralink-based cards on

It seems like there is no way, with the new System-Administration-

P.S. I don't know how to do this, but I think this bug report should be

I have come across this issue also, I've seen people lose essays on

serious usability issue because:

data, such as an entire essay.

Hi all,
I can confirm that this bug is still present in the Edgy beta. I tried

than with vesa, but it has trouble initialising X.
The vesa driver graphics performance seems to have deteriorated a lot
between dapper and edgy. In
I got this exact same problem with another machine after upgrading to

that matters, so I won't post any details about this machine.

Agreed, sounds like this might not be a kernel problem.
It's been suggested to me that it could be an issue with hal, and that
reinstalling hal might fix it. If I get a chance to try this (the laptop
