I cam confirm this bug. I'm using Xubuntu 9.10 with the latest updates
installed.
The autoload subtitle option is activated. I also noticed that totem freezes
only if I try to open a video file by double clicking it.
If I first open totem and then open the movie from Movie->Open it doesn't
freez
