Hi Sebastien, you are probably right. the Problem lies on the Nautilus side. I have the problem also with opening local folders containing thousands of jpg's and/or avi's. It's not a gvfs problem. Opening a local folder with this content takes also minutes to open and nautilus is using 90% of CPU

Hi, First it's the number of files which seems to slow down Nautilus. Please try to reproduce the error with a directory > 2500 files. I tried it with gvfs-ls, ist's fast, the gvfs-ls takes < 1 sec for these 2500 files. Nautilus is working at least 30 seconds and in this time CPU load is high.

Have the same/similar behaviour on my 8.04 beta4 machine. I receive "The interface does not exist" if I press the configure button in gnome-nettool. But gnome-nettool does show the counter for this interface (eth0). This computer has only lo and eth0, no wireless. System/Administration/Network
