I'm using Impress in LibreOffice 4.1.3.2 and Kubuntu 13.10 (KDE4). Sometimes,
randomly, when I'm preparing a presentation and just try to insert an image,
the program crashes after choosing the file in the file dialog, or in the
moment that the file dialog opens.

I've installed all the packages you've told me, reproduced the crash, found the
15 Mb file in /var/crash and (I think) sent the report.
Just some questions:

After reading https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-
drivers-177/+bug/289964 I've changed to the nv driver in xorg.org and
firefox-3.0 now renders ok.

after reading this thread I've changed to the nv driver in xorg.org and
firefox-3.0 now renders ok, but the problem now is that the screen shows a fast
flick EVERY 10 seconds. Not so annoying as being unable to use firefox, but...
