Having the same problem on a Thinkpad T410s, also Intel graphics (Core i5).
I just tried to create a core dump, following the instructions of Lasse.
However when trying to reproduce the crash, I had a total lockup, with hard
reset needed. No /etc/X11/core was generated.

Had the same issue (11.10 running KDE here). gnome-icon-theme installed and
theme set to oxygen-gtk didn't work.
Installing gnome-icon-theme-full solved it.

All my efforts to work around this without building all (vlc, ffmpeg, x264)
from source failed. The reason is that the current vlc package in order to
support H.264 depends on libavcodec-extra-52 which itself depends on
libx264-85. Thus, even manually installing l

I extensively use konsole with several open tabs, thus I am used to name then
in order to quickly navigate between them.
In KDE 3 that always worked fine and also was correctly restored after reboots.
In KDE 4 konsole however my tab names seem to get lost after a while, and
I recently tried to install Kubuntu 9.10, my PC also has a 7600 GT. I
had the the issue described here. Is there any progress?
