You are wrong, game performance is in the toilet with Unity. Run any
game on Unity 3D that lets you check FPS then log out and log into Xfce
and run the same game. You will see at
rsteppac (ralf-xr) check my comment #18, this has been working for me.
At least it's wokring on 11.04 64 bit using eclipse.org Helios build.

About a year ago I updated our systems to run a cron job once a day
which runs the following script (and updated it a few months ago to kill
the calendar factory too) as long as the evolution UI isn't running:

Well now I'm on Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit and the symptoms are there is now a
new process called e-Calendar-factory that is taking a half a gig of RAM
after 3 days of up time.

That may be but I reporred the leak on my home desktop that I use every day
for email. No exchange involved just my pop server and I use tge google
calendar integration.

I tried adding gtk-auto-mnemonics = 0 to a new file balled .gtkrc-2.0 in
my home directory and logged out and back in but that did not fix it
(thought it was worth a try based on some of the things I'd read on the
net it sounded like it would honor the setting).

Problem description:
The evolution-data-server leaks 10's of megs of RAM over a 24 hour period in at
least the Google calendar service. I originally reported this to
bugzilla.gnome.org but I think this needs more urgent attention.
I noticed recently that 8.04.1 was out, so I downloaded and tried the
Live CD and it booted so the bug is fixed, thanks! I rebooted to my
normal system and did an automatic upgrade and I'm running 8.04 now!
I'm changing the status to Fix Released since I can't find on that says

Yes I mis-named the target which is compiz. Thanks Richard. And yes it
is the window decorations that disappear. I realize now also that the
workaround is "compiz --replace" not "metacity --replace".

Ok good idea it was being caused by the Image Zoom 0.3 plugin. I
disabled that and now the problem appears to be gone. It looks like it
has already been reported at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-
US/firefox/addon/139 so I will close this bug.
