When opening a new window in nautilus the default focus is on the
toolbar buttons rather than on the file chooser like in older versions.
Surely the focus is much more useful on the file chooser so the keyboard
can be used to perform actions on

No worries, however, this is perhaps slightly different? The focus for
me is not on the sidebar dropdown but on the 'Up' button.

Yes it appears to still be fixed! Reinstalled with packages from
jaunty-proposed

I was using the mozilla daily PPA, in which it was fixed, until now but I
downgraded firefox-3.5 and xulrunner-1.9.1 and to the security update

On a fresh install (and also on the live cd) of 64 bit 9.04 there is no
sound from the internal laptop speakers. A fix has been posted on the
Ubuntu Forums here:

applying this fix the sound does work although
