Thanks Roel. I just bought a $21 ASUS WL138G V2 PCI from new egg. So
it's worth a shot and cheap enough that if it doesn't work - eh...at
least I tried. If this does work out of the box (or even if it doesn't)

Yeah, it's a shame. I know this is complicated but Ubuntu was making a
real dent in the commercials sector (as far as getting laptops that
could install it and magazines reviewing Ubuntu). But this WiFi thing

It is my understanding that the GPL symbols issue was "fixed" in the
2.6.25 kernel. So, in theory, ndiswrapper will work like it did in
Gutsy with 2.6.25. YAY!!! My question is - I just pulled a new kernel
through Ubuntu update last week. It was 2.6.24-17. Does anyone know
when we'll get 2.6.25
