Since yesterday I have the same problem on ubuntu 9.04 and pidgin 2.5.5!

Hi,
the machine is not rebooting. It looks like xorg crashes and then
restarts xorg. It does return to login screen. Hope that helps?

yes problem still exists.
I can give you some more facts:
- I connect the network drive in nautilus = File = connect to Server.
My username and password for the shared drive is different to my
username and password on my machine.
- If I open the document from within nautilus (for
something additional:
I create a bookmark in nautilus and try to attach the document in
evolution over this bookmark but that fails.

Yes problem still exists. At the moment I have to copy all files to
attach into a local folder and attach them from there

I create a new message and then click on icon to add attachments, then
the add attachment box opens, then I click on left site to my network
directory place, choose the file in the file list and press add.
After that the it looks like the attachment is on but then the error
message pops up.
if I do it like that from desktop then it works without any
problem...also I can open the document I want to attached without any
problems when browsing in filebrowser Natilus

at the point where I add the attachment not. the authentification seems
to be stored in/from nautilus...I have to enter the authentification the
first time I map the drive into nautilus
