Ok so the issue I'm having now is that under my account, the iPhone
appears in rhythmbox as "Apple iPhone", however it only shows me the
movies/photos on it.
I created a new user account and opened rhythmbox as that user,
everything worked perfectly. Also, the iPhone appeared (correctly) as

I realised that while my install was clean, my home directory was not (I
keep it on a separate partition).
I did a
sudo apt-get remove rhythmbox --purge
followed by a
apt-get install rhythmbox
and now it can see my iPhone. However it still isn't working quite yet -

I have the same problem. On Ubuntu Lucid,

When I plug the iPhone (3GS, 16GB) in, I get "Unhandled media" (as per

As an update - I have patched and built a kernel with TuxOnIce support.
I have found performance using TuxOnIce to be better on this laptop -
approximately 30 seconds from closing the lid to power off and around
the same for resuming.

Hi I have a similar problem on my Sony VAIO VGN-CR323.
Suspend to RAM is fast (both going down and coming up) but Hibernate is
*very* slow. From selecting "Suspend to Disk" in knetworkmanager to the
machine actually powering down takes 1:14 seconds. Interestingly enough,
the HDD activity light is
