/etc/apt/preferences and /etc/apt/sources.list are not the same.
/etc/apt/preferences doesn't exist by default, and by default it would

I suspect this issue is related to something causing one of my servers
to hang when serving files through samba. Certainly it is the only
logged error, however as the whole machine hangs i may be losing log
data. Have installed libpam-smbpass and am waiting to see if the machine
hangs again.

2 different models of HVR-1300 (five cards in total) using the cx88
driver.
I can confirm that the above patch does fix my instances of the
readreg/writereg problem with the current linux-image-2.6.24-16.30.

Every time my server boots I have to restart nfs-common in order for idmapd to
work properly.
