provided by Ubuntu, but AFAIK that is not the case.

The kernel update that was issued today -- 3.13.0-66 -- killed my
computer. Fortunately I was able to go back to the prior one --
3.13.0-65. When restarting after the install and just after logging in,
a system error box came up, but all I could do was a hard shutdown.

forgot to mention ... i was dragging a photo from 3.10.2 Image Viewer
(3.10.2) to nautilus (3.10.1) . seems to have half the image's
thumbnail still showing allowing side and extra mouse pointer.

I don't remember exactly what I was doing to trigger this - something
about trying to set up an ipmasq'd wired-to-wireless connection bridge.
Anyway, kernel errors attached. Brought down anything that touched the
process, had to reboot.
$ uname -a
Linux laptop 2.6.24-16-gene
Maybe this should be rettagged as "Support for MacBooks in Ubuntu" so
the main goal would be that people with macbooks should be able to run
and install ubuntu in its various forms flawlessly.

I want to have Ubuntu as my primary and only OS in my intel MacBook.
Right now this is not possible at least because of the problems with GRUB.
Not sure if with a working grub this is possible though...
A solution to this and a HOWTO for beginers would freed a lot of MacOS
