I can't because I downgraded to the normal gnome release on ubuntu 13.10
supplemented with gnome-team ppa.
I think the bug is fairly obvious, though I don't see how breaking

I'm on Ubuntu 13.10, using latest gnome 3.10 repositories. Cairo-dock

I see the same error while trying to boot from nfs. I saw it in syslog
of the nfs client (after getting a sulogin console). Is this normal? I
see that udev-fallback-graphics also failed, is this related? Why, is it
a fatal error that graphics cannot be started? That does not make much
sense to me.

I see this error on a netboot, on a debootstrap nfsroot created on
Ubuntu 11.04. However, I don't see any stale files under /var/lib/dbus.
Why would this occur?

working, can anybody tell me why this terrible code is the default?
Please remove this non-functional kernel server thing from the
distribution, it doesn't work as it ought to. If nfsv4 isn't working,
then what's the point of
BTW, this is likely a 64-bit problem, as that number is -2, right? Maybe
it's an exceptionally bad programming error. I guess I won't see this
problem on i386.
So, maybe there is a serious 64-bit bug, in this case, why is the nfs-
user-server package removed from the distribution, why are the

Dear Steve,
Thank you for your interest in the matter. It's costing me precious
time, so all help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
I've now checked my nfs-common config, it had the following relevant
bits:
# Do you want to start the statd daemon? It is not needed for NFSv4.
NEED_STATD=yes
