I get this error when i try to launch the update manager. E:Encountered

noob to all this...running dapper drake installed from live cd/dvd. at
bootup my computer hangs everytime at loading hardware drivers every
time! if i hit the reset button it will start over and complete the
whole process to the sign in window. also my computer does not
