It still happens for me with Ubuntu 11.10, too. Though, it only happens
when Firefox is running. If I close firefox, everything is smooth again.
And it only happens when running for some time (current uptime is 3
days).

Firefox looses window decoration on startup with Unity

I should add that only those maximized windows are affected, which where
restored on firefox startup. Once I open a new firefox windows for the
already running firefox session it has all window decorations. So this
bug is only about those restored maximized windows. Hope this makes it
