Same H/w as OP on Ubuntu 10.04. Tried Google Map experiment same result - on 5th or 6th double click on StreetView lost connection. Just zooming in on map breaks connection. Loses connection on YouTube as well. Everything works fine on 9.04 and 9.10 and Windows 7 and Mac and Android and iPhone.
