It's not a driver issue though, it's an acpi/kernel issue that's causing
the problem.

So, I downloaded the source, and compiled it, I made sure to include
snd-hda-intel. I added acpi_osi=!Linux as a boot paramater.
And Voila!!, still no sound. In Ubuntu's defense though, I had never
compiled a kernel before, but I think I did everything right.
I'm still stumped, anyone have any
I want to help with the bug, but I don't know what to do, can anyone
give me some instructions on ways I might be able to track down the root
cause of the issue. If I can find that, then maybe we can get it fixed.

I would like to report the same issue on a Toshiba P105-S6192. I had
the sound working under both edgy and feisty with the dsdt fix, but with
gutsy, it only works with acpi off. If you need anything from me,
