To me it seems that cryptsetup has two startup scripts (in /etc/init.d):
cryptdisks-early
cryptdisks
AFAIK both read /etc/crypttab and cryptdisks-early reads the 1st line
(probably what's needed to boot) and cryptdisks reads the remaining lines.
For some reason upstart doesn't wait for the entry

When:
/etc/rcS.d/S28cryptdisks
is executed at boot, (so after /etc/rcS.d/S28cryptdisks-early), Karmic doesn't
wait for the input in response to the prompt. So the system loads gdm before
the user can insert his password. Hence the system is booted without mounting
all the disks and a ps -ef|gre
With the final upgrade from beta to karmic, the problem was solved for
me. Curious to hear if others are still affected.

Hi Cory,
I'm assuming you want me to uncheck write caching in the Windows OS.
I tried that, followed by a chkdsk /r, a reboot and subsequently a
shutdown before booting into intrepid. Unfortunately noting changed, I'm
still getting the same error.
