I haven't been using ubuntu much as of late, mostly been working with
freebsd and windows, but last I checked, the nvidia drivers were okay
with ibex

This is a recurring problem.
Separate Xscreens using nvidia 177 glx drivers, nforce 8600 gts graphics
card. On second monitor, quick launch icons cause a crash when clicked.

Interesting find..
The same location (share on server in Places) works 100% if accessed from a
save as dialog in The GIMP.
Try to open in nautilus, and errors listed above, but no errors in save as
dialog. Perhaps it is a nautilus problem, as the location appears to be mounted
correctly in Place

I have tried this, and it has not worked. I only have 177.68 and the
generics in that folder, and have reloaded the kernel 3+ times now. I am
98% certain that this would require something else, since the 3+ times
have not done it, even after multiple restarts.
