After my 2nd attempt at installation, final synaptic message was
E: g15daemon: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
E: g15stats: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

Resolved by removing graphics card, resetting CMOS, new battery, wiping
drive clean, reloading 10.04 neat (ie - without 9.04 which I had
originally) I´m fairly :) just need to fix that floppy issue!
