claims it is not an original ubuntu copy i was able to fix it by undoing
all the steps i did nd uninstalling the stuff on my own so just don't

Slightly different message under Jaunty liveCD (line is 372 instead of

Same problem here with toshiba satellite M40 145.
I don't even have the /proc/acpi/VGA nor the /proc/acpi/video/VGA folder, so I

the old package?
1. I uninstalled/removed the old package (the one on the repository)
2. I installed the package I compiled myself.
3. I opened Synaptic and mark the package as lock version
4. the update manager still notifies

module is needed for the interface to work at all. Connections and connecting
in itself is unreliable

I updated Fesity today, linux-restricted-modules was updated, after that
Network-Manager doesn't work with madwifi drivers and my atheros wifi, he
