The simple solution with that was to install usb-modeswitch package, more here: http://leo.gaggl.com/2010/05/huawei-k3765-on-ubuntu-10-04-lucid/ , already helped out Niall, but I guess that package will become quite important as there will be more of those new modems. this issue can be closed.
