So When I switched to gnome and tried running apport-collect 1273826 . It wouldnt run from my home directory. It only ran when I was in the /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu directory . This gave me a clue that there was some system library that was not in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Once I added /usr/lib/x86_64-
