Tried to enable Desktop-Effects. I've an intel i915gm Graphics Card
(Fujitsu SiemensAmilo Si1520) Notebook. After enabling the effects, the
desktop simply locks up, the screen goes black with some vertical
blue/green lines. glxgears works fine.

Minor success. I can play the file now under totem, but when i seek to
the end, totem crashes. If i try to generate a valgrind.log it crashes
after showing the first frame (see attached log). The log looks very
similar to the previous one, so i think nothing has changed.

After upgrading vom pre-2.6.20 Kernel the Headphone mixer is removed.
Sound still works but only with internal speaker. The sound from the
speaker gets muted after plugging, but i can't hear anything from the
headphones.
