Pedro, I cannot replicate this anymore, since 2.12. Every so often I get
the already know modal dialog errors, but that is it. Unless the
original reporter, or somebody else, confirms this on 2.12, I think we
could close as magically solved from 2.11.92 to 2.12.

Yes, it is in Feisty, but the fix for the A4 (and other) printing issues
has also changed gtkhtml3.14. So, simply backporting Evolution will not
do the trick: we also need to backport gtkhtml3.14.
On the other hand,... it seems gtkhtml3.14 is only used by Evo, so this
would be a no-brainer. The
@NoOp: this indeed seems fixed on Gutsy (Evo 2.12.0/E-D-S 1.12.0). Also,
backporting this fix to Feisty will require backporting GtkHTML3.14 as
well, and this is a rewrite of the printing code on Evo... rather
extensive change. Unfortunately, I do not have the time I would need to
look at the

I have just closed upstream as NOTGNOME. Recognition of a previously
installed bogofilter cannot be done by Evo upstream, since there was no

Is the account you are using enabled (Edit/Preferences; verify the
account *is* cheked enabled; then Edit the account, and check on the
SMTP settings)?
If all is correct, then...
1. has it ever worked?
2. Can you run Evo as follows:
env CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution evo.log 21
then try to send
Still, Evo should gracefully fail, not just scream bloody murder flop.
But this is better: at least you are able to (partially) work.

So I went and gave it a try under gdb. I decided to give it a fist run
without breakpoints, and I was surprised to see a three errors being
output -- exactly about the GTK dialog that _should_ be shown.
Ah well. So now we know
The only thing that comes to my mind right now is that something is
hosed under the ~/.evolution directory. You can try two things:
1. rm -rf ~/.evolution/calendar (since it is the calendar init that is
failing)
or
2. rm -rf ~.evolution (since this user has not really used Evo so far).
Then
Gary, do you want to pursue the issue?

If you can repeat at will -- which seems the case -- please follow the
instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash, steps (1)
and (2); then
sudo apt-get install evolution-dbgsym evolution-data-server-dbgsym
Then start
Closing invalid as requested per user.

on the drowning in accounts passwords... I feel your pain... aren't we
all :-)
Unfortunately, we depend on the upstream priorities and/or willing
hackers to go in and correct it. So... it may take a while indeed.
