When i said that i needed to unmute IEC598, i was actually MUTING it !
I was willing to make some tests to check again...and noticed the status of the

So i'm actually muting IEC958 Optical Raw to get sound.

after adding a google calendar via evolution webcal (/usr/lib/evolution-
webcal/evolution-webcal MY_PRIVATE__URL), i can see it properly
syncronised with evolution.

After installing 2.6.24-12 kernel (and restricted-modules and ubuntu-
modules), my sound card doesnt seem to be recognized anymore.

Ok, i fixed the problem by recompiling Mplayer, using these options:
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-gui --disable-arts --disable-smb
--enable-sdl --enable-x11 --enable-xv --enable-menu --enable-largefiles
--win32codecsdir=/usr/lib/win32
Had to install a bunch of dev files to get dependencies
Ok, recompiled mplayer from svn: same result.
Same error with Alsa PCM, where master is actually working.
I actually noticed that i also had a bug with a vant window navigator plugin:
